Summary
In honor of the ten-year anniversary of The Heroin Diaries, Nikki Sixx’s definitive and bestselling memoir on drug addiction is reissued with exclusive new content. This shocking, gripping, and at times darkly hilarious memoir explores Nikki’s yearlong war with a vicious heroin addiction. Now more than ever, with opioid addiction ravaging our country and rising by twenty percent in the past year alone, Nikki’s story of both his descent into drug-addled decay and subsequent recovery and transition into a rehabilitation advocate are now more relevant than ever.

When Mötley Crüe was at the height of its fame, there wasn’t any drug Nikki Sixx wouldn’t do. He spent days—sometimes alone, sometimes with other addicts, friends, and lovers—in a coke- and heroin-fueled daze.

The highs were high, and Nikki's journal entries reveal some euphoria and joy. But the lows were lower, often ending with Nikki in his closet, surrounded by drug paraphernalia and wrapped in paranoid delusions.

Here, Nikki shares the diary entries—some poetic, some scatterbrained, some bizarre—of those dark times. Joining him are Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Slash, Rick Nielsen, Bob Rock, and a host of ex-managers, ex-lovers, and more.

Brutally honest, utterly riveting, and surprisingly moving, The Heroin Diaries follows Nikki during the year he plunged to rock bottom—and his courageous decision to pick himself up and start living again.

Nicky Six & his crew were admittedly spoiled junkies. Glad he's better. I hope he has done his best to apologize to the innocent people he insulted such as many Japanese. I wouldn't want my kids reading about what a worthless druggie I was & how he treated many sex partners & people in general. He needs to make amends to many people & he should be giving back in spades/ forever. Shame on his lifestyle& I hope his kids are far better people than he.

This was my wheel house. I was 20 in 87 and loved Motley Crüe. Very interesting to hear the his perspective on fame fortune and fan adoration. Very raw and real. I liked it and glad he turned it around.

I listened to The Dirt and liked it a lot and was skeptical of the heroin diaries because I wanted to hear about the group as whole instead of just Nikki. But man, the second I started listening to this book I couldn’t stop. I would’ve listened to it all in one sitting if I didn’t have other stuff to do. I would recommend to all Motley or Sixx:A.M. fans

One of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to. Nikki is such a wild and crazy guy with some adventures that are almost dreamlike. Thank you so much Nikki Six for this one of a kind book. PS. Fellow recovering addict myself. 2.5 years clean!!

This book is AMAZING! Made me look at Nikki Sixx in a different light. Also made me not judge the drug addicts and alcoholics that I do know and I appreciate the life I have chosen to live. The choices that I have made. Made me laugh and cry ALOT! Made me count my blessings. Life is beautiful. I've had some things in my life that was hell. I have over come them. Thank you Nikki for making me my mind more open. You are an inspiration to me and to many, many, MANY more people. Love you, Nykki Dunn

I like autobiographies and I was brought up in a drug addicted family so I purchased the book. No I was not a fan of his or his band but now I am a fan of his. I like people who are honest and real even when they don’t come out looking great. If you are not a autobiography fan this book may be hard to listen to but I would recommend it and if you don’t like it you spent less on it then you did your coffee for a week.
