Summary
NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE

From New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult, the “compelling” (USA TODAY) novel about a girl who sues her parents for the rights to her own body. Featuring fan favorite Jesse, who appears in the upcoming novel Hollow Bones.

Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate—a life and a role that she has never challenged...until now.

Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister—and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.

“A beautiful, heartbreaking, controversial, and honest book” (Booklist, starred review) My Sister’s Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child’s life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you?

I did love this book, I believe I was just incredibly disappointed in the ending because I had seen the movie first. The book and the movie are very different. Heartbreaking end to a very complex story!

Honestly, genuinely, goddamn this book. I knew to expect a lot of major differences from the movie from all the book-reader complaints (very fair, I get it) but WOW! Just..... WOW!!!!! That ending! First ever book to actually make me cry. I'm not even exaggerating, I am not a crier and yet there i sat at the end, crying. The voice actors really weren't helping any, they're far too good at their jobs. There goes my lovely dry-eyed track record, mercilessly obliterated by amazing storytelling and acting. Ugh. I'll get revenge one day, I swear. If I can own this I will. I need physical copies of both the written book and the audiobook. This is not the book that sold me on Picoult but it sure did keep me.

Super awesome book. So much better than the movie, which had to remove several important character developments and had a different ending. Narrations by different people brought the characters to life. If you’ve not read the book, do consider this audio version. Read or listen to the audio book instead of watching the movie or at least before

This book was recommended to me by a friend and I'm glad I took her recommendation. The interesting/controversial topic of the book is what drew me in but once I started listening I liked the way the author portrayed the different viewpoints of the parties involved (and how these were brought to life by the narrators). The ending was different and a lot more dramatic than I expected - my jaw literally dropped. If you think the book sounds interesting, I'd definitely say it's worth a listen.

The narration was great, but the story felt so long and drawn out. Not my favorite read.
