I loved the story. But the female narrator not so much
I love the class war/labour movement and fantasy mixture, but the narration is terrible. The narrator’s male voice is horrendous and difficult to listen to.
The narration was done really well. There was 2 POVs (Patrick and Nina) and was read in a dual narration by Billie Fullford Brown and Joshua Riley. Both were amazing and perfect for the roles they played. I only have a tiny complaint about is the speeds between each narrator. I listened at 2X and the female voice as a lot faster than the male voice. I've been in a battle on changing my rating to 5.... I really enjoy this story, it kind of reminded me of feeling you got when you first read the Hunger Games but more in a time frame of Peaky Blinders. It was intriguing but I was able to guess a lot of the twists, but it was still entertaining. It's really a weird feeling to have. The writing was superb. If you like unique magic system, social classes fighting against each other, hidden identities, political intrigue, love triangle, and mobster vibes. You will love this!
