#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

From TLC’s Sister Wives star Christine Brown Woolley, a groundbreaking and heartfelt memoir about living in a family like no other and finding the strength to leave polygamy—and the only life she’s known—behind.

Christine Brown Woolley had always dreamed of having a picture-perfect family—beautiful children, an adoring husband, and of course, a sisterhood of wives to share him with. Raised in Utah by practicing polygamists, Christine knew her life was less than normal, but that didn’t stop her from loving the full house of her childhood any less.

Becoming Kody Brown’s third wife in 1994, Christine finally found the big, happy family she had hoped for. When TLC’s hit show Sister Wives premiered in 2010, Christine knew it was her chance to shine a light on the brighter side of polygamy—the helping hands, the lively discussions, and their unmatched devotion to each other. But the cameras also revealed a much darker truth.

Now, in this candid tell-all, Christine shares for the first time the journey that led her away from polygamy and the bold path she is carving to live apart from all she has ever known. Moving, genuine, and insightful, this is a uniquely powerful tour de force of Christine’s journey toward and beyond her time in the spotlight as a sister wife.

An honest view of Christines side of the story. Made even better by being read by Christine herself.

I enjoyed this book. I love that Christine, Janelle and Meri left such a toxic relationship. I’m glad to see how bright their futures are now. No one knows how hard it is to leave toxic relationships unless they lived it. The mind control, your self worth is so fragile. I’m so happy for these ladies to find a new path. Life is too short to be unhappy, feeling alone and isolated. It takes courage and loving support from people who truly care about your wellbeing to accomplish a better life.

Eye opening on so many levels. This story really spoke to my heart as a divorced woman and as a mother and grandmother. It does show that even though you think your world is imploding, you do find life and love again and sometimes the next chapter is better than the first. Now about the book, this was well written, beautifully, red, and kept my attention all the way through. I find myself hoping that Janelle does indeed write her own story.

Great read

The reading was immature and lacked the proper inflections. She was so worried about the pronunciation of each syllable, it made the reading seem elementary.

Good book! I love it when the author reads the book! I watch the show, but I learned a lot from the book! She opens up a lot and explains a lot of things! I think she did a job!

As an avid fan and regular viewer of the series Sister Wives since it first aired years ago, this was a must read for me. It didn’t disappoint. Christine does a great job narrating and the story did a good job of providing additional insight and perspective into the life of this famous TV family. I’m glad Christine has found happiness, but as ridiculous as polygamy still is to me it was very sad to watch the Brown family implode. Here’s hoping all the other Brown family members are equally as able to overcome the disintegration of their once loving family.

There was so much more to the story than what I watched on the show! Also, I already didn't like Kody, but didn't know the half of it. Grateful for her honesty in writing this book. I agree with Christine that Janelle should write a book too.

I loved this book. Christine is a great narrator and storyteller. I've watched Sister Wives through the years and I know this book is only one POV, but I think she's balanced the information really well so isn't boring, but still recognisable.

It was great to get some of the backstory from Christine in her own voice. I really enjoy this show and now that I understand more of the dynamics I can appreciate what the wives have been through. I highly recommend this book.

I absolutely love Christine and her life is so much better now that she found her true self She is a strong amazing woman. And David is her soul mate. I hope they make a spin off of the OG 3 and leave sobbin Robyn and Kotex Kody out of the show

Christine wasn’t my favorite sister wife before, but she is now! This book is definitely better than I thought it would be! As an LDS woman who has lost her faith, her raw story makes me feel that it’s ok and most importantly, justified. Blessings to you and your beautiful family, Christine!

Easy to listen to. This book gives more in depth look at the things we saw on tv as well as some things that we didn’t see.

Very well done!

WOW!!!! One of the best books I've ever listed to. It was very raw and honest. I think that she was fair to Cody because she mentioned some her own shortcomings too. I've watched their family from day one of the series. There were few surprises because I think the editors do a great job of portraying the truth. Cody has shown the world himself who he is. Hearing her story of having the courage to leave a bad situation is inspiring. I've been there. Wishing all of them the best in their future endeavors. I'm starting it over to listen to it again. Hearing Christine's story in her own words is a must! I'm looking forward to Janelle's and Meri's books. I would like to read Cody's and Robyn's books also.
