Unabridged Audiobook
Is the third in a series of books that begins with Tide lands, continues with dark tides, and ends here. In true Philippa Gregory style, it provides accurate historical context and richly drawn characters that act and believe accordingly. If you’re looking for a lightweight piece of fluff that you can read on the beach, the kind of novel that provides titillating scenes with shallow characters far to spunky for their era, this book is not for you. If you’re looking for a book that you will hold in your heart and head, and will genuinely inform you whilst keeping you entertained, you might love this. I have yet to read one of Philippa‘s books without great satisfaction, and I recommend them all. To put my review in context, I studied literature at Uni, and I found I had a much deeper appreciation of it when I studied history at the same time. It’s also just a damn good read. Enjoy!
I loved this whole series, and this book was no exception. The author did a great job of moving the characters along with new challenges. Not sure if this is the end of the series, but it was a satisfying end to this book. The narrator did a great job with the individual characters and accents.
Love Phillippa Gregory books. Great character development
